Almost forgot...i hit the darkroom after a few months haitus. Very refreshing to make prints and crop, burn, and do all that good stuff.

Mlk weekend was packed and fun-filled to say the least. Although grumble while watching Coretta Scott King introduce Laura Bush on MSNC for a special Marting Luther King celebration yesterday.

Don't get it twisted the man was born on January 15th, 1929 (it was observed yesterday, whatever that means)

My weekend=Getting older
Saturday was a simple exercise in getting up early to get my hair retwisted by my friend Kim. This was my first time trying her out. So after wasting my hours away Friday night online, I had to wake up early Saturday morning to head out to Brooklyn.

I left for BK at 10 am, came back home in the midst of a heavy snowstorm at 7pm. I love the snow, despite how tricky driving becomes with it. In between those hours was my first viewing of Ghost Dog (RZA's score is to die for, but is only available as a japanese import which is rather expensive. but thank goodness i got hooked up with it a while back--*snicker*); banana pancakes and scrambled eggs (Kim laced me and her friend); and just god old-fashioned chatting it up.


Sunday was funday as i took a nap after church, before heading out to two "events"-- my friend's viewing of his first film (all five minutes of it) he did for film class and my other friend's 28th bday celebration at an Irish pub in the city (no he is not Irish).
The film was funny, the party fun.


On break in November, last year, while shooting a couple of scenes for the film

can we all just pop pills and drink vodka like the chicks in "Valley of the Dolls?"

hello all... i seem to have negelcted to recount my days at the afterschool program...
but wait i callled the oral surgeon today and my crappy insurnace won't cover the surgery.
without it, it wil cost me:
1,300 for all four teeth
i guess i am ish out of luck now

They, DeLaney, call me Ham Lady because he has this delusion that I smell of ham, which I do not. His littlecave man mind cannot differentiate different smells.
I happen to find the smell of ham appetizing....Maybe he's hungry for blood.

dentists are the worst.

Dental exams - Part 2

today i left work early and treaded back to Queens to see the oral surgoen for my teeth.
dentist: well as i can see from the X-Ray your teeth have grown into the ones next to each
me: i know
d: and also your top wisdom teeth need to be taken out. We can take out all four today...
me: umm can't i just take out the bottom ones
d: well u need to take out all four and you should take them out all at once. it will just get worse if u leave the top ones in
me: umm... what will it be like the recovery...can you use general anestitic?
d: can use genenral, plus i dont't have the tools for that. It's simple and will only take 10 minutes to take out all four

at this point i am sensing fear in my voice. and he wanted to do the extractions at this point. but what saved me was the center still not knowing about my medical insurance which would be needed for the surgey.

So the saga continues... tommorrow i call the surgeon up to find out whta is the status of my insurance

Dental exams= pain
2 years since last exam (i think)
Dentist: u have nice teeth
after x ray
D: your wisdom teeth at the bottom are growing against the teeth next to each causing decay.
Me: ok
D: U can make an appointment with the oral surgeon, but u will have to take out all four.
Me: huh?!!
seconds later
M: ok
D: Do would u like a cleaning?
M: yeah (thinking that cleanings are usually cool)

Dentist and asst. gear up, he starts scraping, and she is sucking and pouring water in.

oh the scraping is killing me. almost choke on water twice. bleeding begins..i can taste it. tears well up in my eyes.. those 5-10 minutes felt so long

endgame. never ever procrastinate on getting a cleaning

well this is what i gathered from the below photo. i can't see the lines so i guess that you'd already done them. but maybe its just my junkie mind seeing these things but i'm confused....

There are too many people in my life. i have been feeling so overloaded.
People= several different personalities= several temperments= all types of baggages= several types of masks= a lot to take into my emphatic and sensitive self

it has become a love/hate situation in the past several months. sometimes i just wanna shut out everbody, but i can't-- especially since i stil live at "home."
--internet buddies
--real life buddies
--acquantainces
--childhood buddies
--female buddies

I put that last because interpersonal relationships with the opposite sex is a different ballgame.
-- realizing how much of your comments are sexist
-- navigating attractions developed for some
-- but then u grow a lot from having them too and not just male friends

So what do i do?
Become a recluse and loner once again (is that really realistic?)
Or push on, grin it, and bear it...
