school school

This week was a sign that the reality of graduate school is upon me. i had two orientations, one general and one for my department (Creative Writing). And sadly Michael Cunningham could not make as his father had a stroke. Cunningham is the head of the progarm and pultizer-prize winning author of The Hours.

Your Child can become a Pimp or HO

Ah Halloween is upon us and look at what costumes you can purchase. I'm not sure how legit this is but check it out.

what bloody luck/ my birthday

As i got off the train in Queens, i reached my parked car, pulle the handle and it broke off. LOL why, this Camry is killing me, and i want so badly to get rid of it. which means complete reliance on public transportation. That's a no-no as long i still live in Queens.

oh yeah my birthday was last week wednesday. it rained it rained , i worked at the office until like 8 ish. blah

Collater

I find it disturbing that the closest movie theatre to me spelled the new Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx film Collateral without the "al". I'm hoping that it was a space issue. But something tells me it wasn't. imagine buying your ticket to Shrek and everything you see says "Shre."

Last week, from Wednesday till Friday morning I wore the same t-shirt, and Thursday I took no shower and went grocery shopping at Pathmark<./a>.

and speaking of Collateral, Foxx owned it as the hapless taxi driver just going through life dreaming but never doing anything to realize his dreams. But then Cruise's hitman comes into the picture, flipping his routine upside down.

Director Michael Mann I’m glad is supporting the DV movement and showing what can be done with this medium. AS DV gave the look of the film a gritty look, with a lot more grains of course.

Irma P. Hall played the requisite older black mother role with her usual charm, but alas being an older black actress in Hollywood tends to give you lots of these roles. :(

I should try to write a more straightforward review but I don't think I’ll do it today.

Hi Rich: This is Leslie. I just felt like saying "hey" (and seeing how your "post a comment" thingie works). So, a friend whose movie picks I trust just told me to be sure to see a film called "Maria Full of Grace." It's in Spanish w/English subtitles, he says. Thought I'd turn you on to it (if you weren't already) 'cause it looks like you sit (and like to sit) in the theatre a whole bunch. Happy week to you!
