Go to my front page to help with the relief

Donate to the American Red Cross

Yesterday my frined Sha blew into town and today we saw Meet the Fockers and i picked up Blade 1 for $10 at Virgin's Red Sale.

Funny i didn't laugh much with the original Meet the Parents but may have to rewatch since i am at a different place now.

being sick

Most of yesterday was spent laying in bed drink apple juice by my side and waiting for this awful gas to subside. The worse thing is having to get up to make soup and oatmeal cause no one is aroudn to make it for you. But by last night my head stopped hurting and my nose wasn't running so much. It's like this came out of nowhere beginning Tuesday night.

Weekend Adventures

This weekend represented the end of my first semester at Brooklyn College. Friday was my last craft class with Cunningham ande it was dead. Maybe it was the fact we were on a deserted campus at night on a friday or whatever. But i ended up at Long Tan bar with the class and got my Pad Thai on with Grey Goose and orange juice. On my way to Long Tan i conversed with the lone Indian student in my year about just how it's felt socially in the program and i learned like me he's been learning to adjust and it was good for him to finally join us in after class activities.

Then i met up with Aisha --and her friends-- who was in town for her birthday. And we ended up at Starfoods. *grumble* As usual good music, lots of dancing, and couples galore. LOL

Saturday was interesting met uyp with Aisha and co again and met up with a couple of Okaplayers for a free flowing type of thing where folks went to the Cage on West 4th then to Fatbeats where folsk liek Che, Spec, Von, etc. sang and rhymed while i took pictures and Flithy and others taped it. This was the second meet up of its kind. Hopefully there will be more.

In another life i would have been an emcee and singer.

The person i was datign has moved on so i suppose i should do the same. But the friendship rule i hold stays. So aint not real friendship wiul coem of this, it's better that way; no awkward interactions; no wondering if hugs or playful touching is allowed. Basically most of my female friends are people i never was involved with or had one date with no real chemistry and it just flowed into a friendship.

Who ever is down to see A VERY LONG ENGAGEMENT HOLLA!!

the saga continues

So i came home from the library and was asked by moms if i had looked at what my Grandma was wearing before she left for church. i was like no. and she walked me ot where she was eating and i had to stifle my laugh. and my mother had to shush me into not sayign aything. She had worn her house gown which sort oflooks liek a dress but really isn't.

Alas her failing eyesight and her refusal to admit it and let us really help her. stil you have ot laugh at moments such as that.
but it all comes down to her stubborness. and folks just cause a person ahs lived a lognlife doesn't mean they are wise all the time. they are fallable. human tooo.

but this weekend i only made it to my friend's nikole's bday get together and josh's soire at Freight was not meant to be for me to see.

this week will be my last week of school and my last story shall be critiqued. i shudder to think. but it's been a stressful semester. So i have decided this is my last issue with Complex facthcecking.

Von Pea

All from Fresh Produce

my week's been long and stressful, even caught a headache. Got through my last story and handed it in with gritted teeth, and read most of what needed to be read, except for Fat City.
