my night / Kissing

it's always a pain getting home late because i live so close to Mrytle i almost have to always walk from Fulton to get home if it's after 1 am. i'm not sure how i ended up home so late but i know i had a makeup class last night from 7:30 to about 10:30. and i have the same workshop class today, but at our normal time.

and it's weird and bothersome to see a gang of cops searching train cars for people who maybe be sleeping and taking up more than one seat. it's 2 am in the morning and they are dragging people out cars and possibly ticketing them. all for quality of life?

and last night was the first time i witnessed someone getting chewed out for a story they wrote. grant it i felt the same way about the story and i think when we were discussing it a lot people wanted to say that they didn't know what the story was about even though it was written well. but when Cunningham voiced it quite loud and clear we were like wow. it was tough to watch but he was giving tough love and i can respect that. I could tell she was trying to hold back some tears and maybe I would too if I was in that position. This is my first time with Cunningham in a workshop and he seems to read stuff like a book editor and is big on cutting the fat and finding the heart of the work. And he is gaining my respect for that.

“I love you a lot.” Does that sound dumb when said? As opposed to “I love you so much.” I wanted to smack my forehead after I said the first phrase because I meant it but the “a lot” part sounded funny or maybe I thought it didn’t sound smooth or sincere enough. I so want to kiss them right now, though, like we have all the time in the world.

and now a segue: kissing is one of the things I have loved since my first kiss as a sophomore in college (yes I am a late bloomer). It’s something u can do out in public without being harassed by a cop for indecent exposure. It can lead to more intimate acts or not and still be cool if you’re doing it with someone you care about. And it’s great when you kiss full lips that u can tug on lightly and switch from kissing their upper lip then lower lip.
