Octavia butler: June 22, 1947-February 25, 2006

i'm waiting to find hard links on her death and not just a blog and wikipedia.

she was one of my favorite sci-fi writers and just a dope writer in general. what marked her as really special was being black in a genre where black women were never really writing for. but i was always floored with the images and layers of social commentary she put in her stories.
